Keith R. Krause

Keith Krause, 84, of Onalaska passed away on Saturday, July 30th, 2022 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester after a short illness. He was born on October 11, 1937 in La Crosse, WI to George and Minnie Nottingham Krause. He graduated from Central High School in 1956. Following high school, he began working for Red Owl grocery store. On February 2, 1957 Keith married his sweetheart, Patricia. Together they raised two children, Tammy and Kevin. In 2000, after 18 years, Keith retired from his job as a route driver for the Frito Lay company. In retirement Keith enjoyed traveling with his wife, especially by cruise ship and coach bus. A favorite pastime for Keith was being Santa Clause for the local children and his young family members. His greatest enjoyment came from his time spent with family and friends. He deeply enjoyed his weekly video chats with son Kevin, and wife Cathie who reside in Mexico, and looked forward to Saturday morning errand runs with his daughter Tammy. He relished in watching his two grandsons grow into fathers themselves, and then spent many hours driving across Wisconsin and into Minnesota to visit any number of his five great-grandchildren.

Keith is preceded in death by his parents, George and Minnie. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 65 years, Patricia, his daughter Tammy (Jeff), his son Kevin (Cathie), his grandson Josh (Lindsey), his grandson Jesse (Jennie) and his five great-grandchildren Corinne, Bostin, Eva, Maddie and Nora. Keith is also survived by his siblings Anita Waterbury, Dorothy Balfany, and Robert (Carol) Krause.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 6th, at Halfway Creek Lutheran Church, W6016 County Road W, Holmen, WI. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Halfway Creek cemetery. A celebration of Keith’s life will take place after burial.
