Joyce Bell Marshall

Joyce K. Bell Marshall, 76, of La Crosse, passed away after a short battle with pancreatic cancer on Saturday, July 27, 2024,  at Bethany St. Joseph in La Crosse. Joyce was born on December 22, 1947, in La Crosse to George and Florence (Jansky) Bell. She graduated from Central High School in 1966. She worked as a dietary aide at Lutheran Hospital and also at the La Crosse Garment Company. On May 5th, 2000, Joyce married Charles Marshall. He preceded her in death on April 2, 2014.

Ever since she was little, Joyce had a love for animals but especially cats. She was an independent person but some of her fondest memories go back to family gatherings in the 50s and 60s, spending time with her cousins.

Joyce is survived by her brother, George (Margaret) Bell; nieces, Catherine (Calvin) Robertson and Amy (Emily) Bell-Ferries; great nephews, Spencer, Liam, Sven, and Torin; cousins, Robert (Charleen) Jansky, Jerry (Patty) Muehr, Mike (Denise) Muehr, Clair (Ellen) Button, Lois Lockwood, and Jim Lyons; her best friend, Shirley Walter Keeney; and her cat, Hope.

In addition to her husband, Charles, Joyce was preceded in death by her parents and cousin, Patricia Stilp.

A prayer service will be held on Wednesday, July 31st, at 10:30 am at Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services of La Crosse with visitation beginning at 9:45 am at the funeral home. Fr. Brian Konopa will officiate. Graveside services will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in La Crosse immediately following the prayer service.
