Jodie Lynn (Wurm) Eckert, 51, of La Crosse, died on Monday, December 18, 2017 at the Gundersen Health System in La Crosse. She was born on February 14, 1966 in La Crosse to James and Jean (Plagge) Wurm. Jodie was a 1984 graduate of Central High School. She had worked at Eversole Motors, Toyota, Kwik Trip, and did home care. She was currently working at American Benefit. Jodie enjoyed baking and crafting. She was the best mom ever and her granddaughter made her smile. Jodie fought a hard battle with cancer for eight months, and as an organ donor gave the gift of sight.
She is survived by her significant other of 18 years, Tom Heal, a son Greg Eckert, a daughter Brooke Heal, a granddaughter Kailoni (Eckert) Turben, two brothers, Sam (Tina) Wurm and Joel “Nubby” (Jill) Wurm, her aunt, Renie Plagge, one uncle Jerry Plagge, five nieces and two cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, a cousin Joe Plagge, and Mike Heal.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Trinity United Church of Christ, W4888 Harvest Lane, La Crosse. Pastor Brandon S. Perrine will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral & Cremation Services of La Crosse, 200 West Avenue So., on Friday from 4:00 – 7:00 PM, and at the church on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of services.Service Schedule
