Brian Mitchell Legg

Brian Mitchell Legg, 62, of La Crosse, WI died on Monday, August 2nd, 2021, at his home of a cardiac event. He was born on January, 8th 1959 in Elwood, IN to Mary and William Legg. Brian was an only child but had lifelong childhood friends that he considered brothers - Don Gamble, Rick Smith, Brad Smith, and Bob McMahon. He and his mother moved to Florida for a period of time before settling in Indiana. Growing up, he loved playing football, a sport that he enjoyed watching throughout his life. He was hard working and entrepreneurial and devoted a lot of energy to his craft of carpentry, ultimately starting his own business, Done Right Remodeling.

He loved his kids, all sports, the Bears, the Badgers, history, Ted Nugent and good times. He was the guy who would help you find the thing you needed at Menards even after he stopped working there. He cared about people and loved to help.

He is survived by his wife Laurie; children Jessica (Dr. Dustin) VanOverbeke, Brian (Dr. Tami) Legg, son Corey (Ashley Mosher) Legg, Becca (Steve) Oxley, stepchildren Drake (Samantha) Murray, Devon Murray, and grandchildren Ansel, Emerson, Brooklyn, Bella, Jude, Braedyn, Lillian, Owen, Alec, Hugh. He is preceded by his mother Mary Pyne Hennessy Legg, stepson Danny Murray, and mother-in-law Javene Shumaker.

A private family memorial service will be held at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral & Cremation Services of La Crosse. A Celebration of Life for Brian will be held on Saturday, August 7 ^th beginning at 11:00 AM at the Oktoberfest Shelter in Copeland Park. Sandwiches and beverages will be provided but please bring a dish to pass and a memory to share.
