Red passed away February 8, 2022, at home with his wife of 55 years (Elaine) by his side. He led a long active life enjoying competitive archery, swimming, scuba diving, snorkeling, and his greatest love tennis-which he played for nearly 40 years Born in Racine, WI where he spent his working years, retiring as owner of I&A Sheet Metal. He specialized in design, manufacture, and installation of large anti-pollution systems. Red joined the US Marine Corp during the Korean War serving his entire tour in combat. He was awarded the Purple Heart having been wounded in action. He was a member of Genoa American Legion Post 246. His fellow contractor and best friend George Kruck enjoyed working together for more than 20 years and eventually retiring together (with their wives) to the beautiful driftless area for an additional 20 years. Escaping Wisconsin winters, he and Elaine spent numerous years in West Palm Beach, Florida. Preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Catherine, sister Alice Higgens, and niece Kimberly His survivors include good friend Bill Jambois, sister Nadeen(Hank) Garbers, brother Bob (JoAnn)Jurgens. Children: Jennifer (Jeff) Milutinovich), William (Carrie) Jurgens, Lynn (Bill) Dralle, Lee Jurgens and five wonderful grandchildren: Ty, Bo, Alexa, Aiden and Hana Family wishes to thank nurse Julie and all the wonderful, compassionate staff from Gundersen Hospice.
