William Allen Hansche, 79, died peacefully on March 17, 2025 at Clairidge House in Kenosha, WI. Bill was born to Charles and Ruth Hansche on June 24, 1945.
Bill graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School in 1963. He was the “top pitcher” on Kenosha’s 1963 State Championship Team where he also hit well over .300. He went on to play four years in the Minnesota Twins organization out of high school.
Bill was an avid golfer who won three Kenosha News County Opens in the 1970s. He made a run for the U.S. Open as an amateur in 1974, making it to the eighth qualifying round.
Bill worked for Pepsi Cola and RC Cola in the 70s and 80s before becoming a long-haul truck driver. He enjoyed traveling the country and seeing all the growth and changes over the years. He retired from driving at the age of 70.
Bill stayed close to his friends and family and was a person who would give a stranger the shirt off his back. He had an infectious laugh, a twinkle in his eye, and loved a good joke or prank. He will be missed by all who loved him.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Ruth (Gardinier) Hansche and his brothers, Robert and James Hansche. He is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth “Susie” Grandin, his two grandsons, Kurt (Cortney) Grandin and Alex (Astrid) Grandin, his sister, Judy (Dan) Maas, his two great-grandsons, Parker and Jackson Grandin and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation in Bill's name to a YMCA, a little league or high school baseball organization.
