William "Billy" C. Verthein

William C. “Billy” Verthein, 50, of Stoddard, died at his home on Tuesday, April 7, 2020. He was born on December 30, 1969, and raised in the La Crosse area. He was employed for a number of years by the La Crosse Tribune.

Billy is survived by aunts and uncles, Barbara (Mike Horsfall) Carlson , Robert (Carol) Verthein, Gary (Joan) Verthein, Richard (Barbara) Verthein, Greg (Lynn) Verthein, Lisa (Virgil) Brown, Karen (Doug) Dummer, and Brenda Girard; a cousin, Christin (Troy) Baker-Girard as well as many other cousins, extended family, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Linda M. (Verthein) Girard and his step-father, Lawrence D. Girard; and uncles, John Carlson, Joe Girard, and Bernard “Sonny” Girard.

Due to the current restrictions regarding assembly, immediate services will be private. Burial will take place at a later date in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Hokah, MN.
