Virginia L. Williams

Virginia L. Williams, 84 of Brainerd, Minn., and formerly of La Crescent, Minn., died Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at the Good Samaritan Society Bethany Home in Brainerd. Virginia was born January 16, 1933 in La Crescent, Minnesota to Edward and Louise Spangler and grew up in La Crescent along with her four brothers; Stanley, Donald, Robert and James. She married Gerald Williams September 12, 1952. Virginia enjoyed the outdoors and while quiet and reserved, she had a wide range of professional experiences helping people as a nurses aid in several hospitals and nursing homes. She was an active member of the Gerald and Virginia partnership with successful life adventures in farming, retail sales, log home manufacturing and the development of custom mobile food vehicles. Aside of her love and faithful support to Gerald through their 56 years of marriage, Virginia was most at ease with nature. She enjoyed caring for her beautiful flower gardens, feeding the area wildlife and taking care of any and all birds throughout the cold Minnesota winters.

Virginia is survived by her five children, Debbie (Gary) Petross, Renda Smith, Daryl (Chris) Williams, David (Kathy) Williams, Deanna Williams; sixteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 from 12:30 until 1:30pm at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services La Crescent chapel; 111 South Oak St. Graveside services officiated by pastor Ted Dewald will follow in Toledo Cemetery, rural La Crescent.
