Virginia Dale Steindorf, 67, of La Crosse, passed away at her home surrounded by her family on Friday, August 7, 2020.
She was born in La Crosse on February 11, 1953, to Gilbert and Irene (Ruhner) Bonnie. She attended La Crosse schools and was a 1972 graduate of Central High School. On September 22, 1973, Virginia married Terry J. Steindorf in La Crosse.
Virginia was a self-employed sign language interpreter for many years until retirement. She was also a member and keyboardist for the area percussion group, Beats of Freedom, since its founding in 2000.
Virginia is survived by her husband, Terry; her children, Reuben Steindorf of La Crosse, Myra (Nate) Bissen of Monaca, Penn., Chris (Laura) Steindorf of Onalaska, and Andrew (Kaci-dia) Steindorf of La Crosse; her grandchildren, Logan Steindorf, Natalie and Marya Bissen, Samuel Steindorf and Abigail Steindorf; her sister, Helen (Ron) Thomas of Brooklyn, Wis.; and nieces, nephews and other extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert and Irene; a grandson, Alex William Steindorf; and a brother, Michael Bonnie.
A celebration of Virginia's life will be held on Saturday, September 12th, from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., at the Black River Beach Neighborhood Center, 1433 Rose St., La Crosse.
