Vera Arlene Miller

Vera Arlene Miller, 99 of La Crosse (French Island), passed away at her home on Tuesday, March 2, 2021. She was born on November 21, 1921 in the Town of Onalaska to Albert and Millie (Newman) Geary.

On October 25, 1947 she married Otis Sather and he preceded her in death on September 28, 1965. In January 1969 she married Sherman Miller who passed away in 2018 at the age of 97.

Vera was an avid and accomplished bowler for over 50 years, having won numerous awards and trophies. She loved having company come to the house and enjoyed cooking and baking for her visitors. Vera also was an avid gardener.

Vera is survived by four children; Gary Sather and Michael (Debra) Sather both of La Crosse, Richard (Carol) Miller and Cheryl Miller both of California; a daughter-in-law, Susan Miller of Hubertus, Wis.; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Myrt Geary and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to both of her husbands, she was preceded in death by two sons, David and Gregory Sather; a grandson, Michael Sather, Jr.; three brothers and a sister. Those family members invited to attend the private services are asked to wear masks.
