Valorie J. Kolden

Valorie J. (Gilbertson) Kolden, 67 of La Crosse lost her longtime battle with cancer on Sunday, January 19, 2020 at River Road Estates in Sparta.

Valorie was born and raised in La Crosse and graduated from Central High School. Val spent much of her working days caring for others at Bethany St. Joseph Nursing Home and Hillview Healthcare Center; but her true joy were her children and her family. She enjoyed the time she spent with her family, cooking and showing her artistic side by coloring beautiful pictures for everyone she loved.

Val was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Audrey Gilbertson and her younger brother, Eric Gilbertson. She leaves behind many loving family members; husband, Paul Kolden of La Crosse; son, Adam (Dawn) Peterson of Fort Mitchell, Alabama; daughter, Lindsey (Steve) Pomplun of La Crosse; two sisters, Linda (Scott) Smith of Onalaska and Pamela (Jerry) Willer of La Crosse; a brother, Kevin (Mary) Gilbertson of La Crosse; stepchildren, Bridget (Chris) Grelle of Stoddard, Molly (Michael) Kolden of Stoddard and Erik Kolden of La Crosse; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews and many other family and friends.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, January 23 ^rd at First Lutheran Church, 410 Main Street, Onalaska with Rev. Karyn Bodenschatz officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 1:00 P.M. until the time of services. As per her wishes, interment with her husband will be held at a later date.
