Todd L. Michaels

Todd L. Michaels, 61 of La Crescent, MN passed away on Friday, September 11, 2020 surrounded by family at the Mayo Health System in La Crosse after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born March 23, 1959 in La Crosse to Harlan “Peany” and Arleen (Akright) Michaels and graduated from La Crosse Central High School in 1977. On May 5, 1979 he married Tami Thesing in La Crescent, MN. Todd had worked for City Brewery in La Crosse for over 40 years.

He was an avid Packers fan, enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was an active referee and umpire for Minnesota and Wisconsin High School sports. Todd loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, "The Fine 9". Some of his favorite times were spent singing karaoke, charcoaling chicken, and having campfires. These memories will forever be cherished by his family.

In addition to his wife Tami, he is survived by three children; Tiffany (Jamie) Johnston, Joe (Steph) Michaels and Matt (Cassie) Michaels all of La Crescent; 9 grandchildren; Cooper, A.J., Alli, Harlen, Mya, Presley, Lilly, Owen and Eddy; two sisters, Lynn (Ralph) Yates of La Crescent and Cindy (Richard) Brandau of Minong, WI; three brothers, Ross (Beth) Michaels of Middleton, WI, Gary (Sandra) Michaels of La Crosse and Kelly (Helen) Michaels of Galesville, WI; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 16 ^th at the Church of the Crucifixion, 423 S. 2 ^nd Street, La Crescent with Father John L. Evans II officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday from 4-7 P.M.; Rosary begins at 6:40. On Wednesday, there will be visitation from 10:00 A.M. until the time of Mass. On Thursday a private family entombment will take place in Crucifixion Catholic Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Crucifixion Catholic Church.
