ONALASKA – Timothy Peter Pederson, 60, of Onalaska passed away peacefully and surrounded by family at Mayo Clinic Health System La Crosse on Friday, September 7, 2018.
Tim was born on January 28, 1958 in La Crosse to Carrol “Pete” and Dolores (Merfeld) Pederson. Tim graduated from Aquinas High School in 1976 and attended the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse. Tim married Cathi (Wright) on September 13, 1986. The couple had two daughters together, Abbey and Andrea.
Growing up in Onalaska, he loved participating in athletics with friends and classmates. He shared his affection for sports with his siblings and passed it on to his daughters. Tim lived most of his life in the La Crosse area as an avid outdoorsman. He spent numerous years hunting, hiking, fishing, and golfing with his brothers and lifelong friends. Always the life of the party, Tim kept close with many of his childhood friends and made countless more along the way. In recent years, Tim shared his charming personality with the students and staff at Evergreen Elementary in Holmen as the head custodian.
Tim is survived by his children: Abbey (Andrew) Harlos and Andrea (Jacob Pyka) Pederson; his siblings, Gregory (Lynette) of Galesville, Beth Sonsalla of Trempealeau, Karen (Lee) Carhart of Galesville, Jeffrey (Nancy) of La Crosse, Patrick (Beth) of Holmen, Joseph (Angela) of Onalaska, and Susan Blackwell of La Crosse; godsons, Derek (Brooke) Pederson and Nathan (Alicia) Carhart, and many other nieces and nephews. Tim was preceded in death by his parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, September 13 at 7:30 pm at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Onalaska with Monsignor Steven Kachel officiating. Friends and family may call at the church prior to the Christian Services on Thursday, September 13, from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. A burial service with family in attendance will occur on Friday, September 14.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
