Thomas J. Tyler, 83, of La Crosse, died on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at the Gundersen Health System in La Crosse. Tom was born on January 23, 1941 in La Crosse to Leslie and Violet (Aiken) Tyler. He graduated from Logan High School and received a bachelor’s degree in business from UW-La Crosse. Tom married Sharon Strasser on August 7, 1965 in Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Tom worked as a credit manager for Trane Company for 42 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the St. Thomas More Men’s Club. Tom enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and playing cards. He also enjoyed watching all sports, especially the Packers, Brewers, and Badgers.
Tom is survived by his wife Sharon, a son Chris (Evi) Tyler and their son John, a daughter Carrie Smith and her children, Austin, Dylan, and Logan, and daughter Angie (Jonathan) Lee and their children, Tyler, Jack, Alice, and Thomas, sisters, Dorothy Ritter and Linda Wieczorek, brothers, Milt and Paul (Elaine) Tyler, sisters-in-law Hazel Tyler, Betty Tyler and Karen Bridgeman. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Les and Gene Tyler and sister-in-law Marlene Tyler, and brothers-in-law John Wieczorek and Jack Ritter.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at 10:30 AM at St Patrick’s Catholic Church, Onalaska. Msgr. Steven Kachel will officiate, Burial will be in the French Island Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 AM until the time of services.
