In Loving Memory of Thomas M. "Rocky" Kloss

Tom Kloss, 76, of La Crescent, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on 1/28/2024, surrounded by his loving family.

Tom was born on 9/19/1947 in La Crosse, Wisconsin, to the late Frank and Ruth Kloss. He was preceded in death by his parents and his oldest brother, Ed Kloss.

Tom is survived by his wife of 54 years, Cheryl Lynn (Walter) Kloss, and their three children and seven grandchildren: Jamey Kloss (Sue Howe), Anna Kloss, Nina Kloss, and Stephanie (Kloss) Pierce (Joey Pierce), Kayla and Shelby Pierce, and Amanda Kloss, Cameron, Jacob, and Janessa Kloss bonus child.

He is also survived by his siblings: Gregory and Cheryl Kloss, Dave and Vickie Kloss, and Mary Kloss, all of La Crosse, Wisconsin.

Tom dedicated 39 years of his life to the G. Heilman Brewing Company, where he worked tirelessly  until his retirement in 2013. He was a proud graduate of Aquinas Catholic Schools in La Crosse, Wisconsin, and served his country honorably in the US Army Reserves from 1965 to 1972.

Tom was a member of Church of the Crucifixion. He was known for his passion for the outdoors, spending cherished moments fishing, hunting, and telling stories with his beloved hunting buddies: Ernie, Fred F, Fred A, Mike, and Leon. Tom’s love for woodcutting, sightseeing, and annual vacations in Nevis, Minnesota, brought joy and adventure to his life.

Avid hunter, fisherman, and storyteller, Tom's friendliness and gift of gab endeared him to all who knew him. He treasured his visits with Bob at Tri-State Bait Shop, where he shared camaraderie and tales of his outdoor adventures.

A funeral mass to honor Tom’s life will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, February 7th, 2024 at Church of the Crucifixion, La Crescent. A visitation will be held one hour prior at the church with a eulogy starting at 10:45 A.M. Please join the family for a luncheon at Wieser Park Pavilion after the funeral mass.

Tom will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
