Thomas A. "Tommy" Hauser

May 27, 1979 — June 23, 2023

Thomas “Tommy” A. Hauser, 44, of Melrose, Wi, died Friday, June 23, 2023 due to injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident just outside of Bangor, WI.

Tommy was born on May 27, 1979 to Kenneth R. And Jenni (Schneider) Hauser in La Crosse, WI.  He grew up between West Salem and Barre Mills, WI.  He attended West Salem High School, graduating in 1997.  Tommy eventually settled for a time in La Crosse before moving back to the countryside to the farm life again.

Three days prior to Tommy’s accident, he celebrated his 3rd wedding anniversary to Candida “Candi” (Bushman) Hauser.  They had been together for over 22 years.  They were married on the farm not once but twice in 2020 due to Covid.  They legally wed with a few guests on June 20, 2020 and they later followed with a full wedding in August 2020.

Tommy spent the last 18+ years working for Stella-Jones Corporation as a forklift operator.  He also worked for the same company under its prior name, Webster Industries,  for a few years.  Tommy has many friends from his time at Stella-Jones.  His supervisor’s say that he will be greatly missed by many there as his humor, work ethic, and more made him one of a kind.

Hauser #05 racing was a love of Tommy’s. Tommy raced at the La Crosse Fairground Speedway for many years.  It started in the Hornet division and eventually he moved up to the Thunderstock division.  His cars always had to be yellow and purple.  Except for that one time… he came home from work and found it hot pink for the Trailer Races.  He refused to drive it!  Tommy even participated in the Roll Over Contest once.  He loved being out at that track with friends and his dad.  Never a winner but always had fun!

Tommy enjoyed countless miles of rides on his Harley-Davidson with Candi and many friends.  He always had a passenger on the back of his bike, even after Candi bought her own bike.  Many memories and stories were made and start with “remember that one cycle ride”.  He loved his first sporty~ putting over 23,000 miles on it in a very short time before trading it in.

Farming was instilled at a young age to Tommy by his parents.  He took a chance on it again as a hobby in December 2015 when he moved the family to Black River Falls, WI to the first farm fondly known as “Crazy Train Farms”.  The farm moved in September 2018 to rural Melrose, WI and that is where Tommy & Candi along with help from his Dad, ran their hobby farm. Tommy tried to share every farm animal with Candi~ goats to milk, cows, pigs (to eat & to breed), chickens, ducks, turkeys, quails, mini ponies, donkeys, mini donkeys and geese.  He had an idea for them all!  Tommy and his Dad built many cow yards with pallets as it was an idea that Tommy had.  When the chicken was attacked, he would call Dad and ask what critter may have been in there, what’s the best way to take care of the situation.

Tommy loved to fish and hunt.  Countless stories of fishing from the boat or from shore can be heard from many friends, never a dull moment.  Tommy always wanted that big buck but settled for the doe that he would see during the season.

Tommy is survived by his wife, Candida “Candi” Hauser (Bushman); his children, Makaela, Talon, Madelynne (Steve), and Gabrielle; his grandchildren, Arianna, Kaya, & Marquise; his father, Kenneth R. Hauser;  his brothers, Benjamin (Andrea) Hauser, Joseph (Stacy) Hauser, and Kenneth W. Hauser;  his sister, Rebecca (Mark) Emerson; his brother-in-law & good friend, William (Ashley) Bushman; his sister-in-law, Melissa Bushman; his nephews and nieces ~ Brandon, Trent, & Brooke Hauser and Parker Ausitin; Aiden, Sophie, & Sam Hauser;  Jennifer & Dylan Schechter; Tatyana, Alya, & E’owyn Bushman; Grandma, Margaret Schneider; Father-in-law, Ronald Bushman Jr; Special bonus daughter Jordan Harwick; Close friends Ryan Neblock & Ren Revels; and Many other friends & family members.
