Theron ‘Terry’ A. Ask, 69, of Houston, MN was ushered into the arms of Jesus, surrounded by his wife and children, from complications of pneumonia, on Tuesday, July 18, 2023. He was born on November 26, 1953 in La Crosse, WI to Roy and Blanche (Nelson) Ask. Terry graduated from Houston High School in 1971. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 4 years. After returning from the military, he farmed with his dad while attending WWTC, studying agriculture. He married Sandra Frauenkron Osborn on January 11, 1981 in Houston Baptist Church. In 1985 he and Sandy started a successful ServiceMaster franchise which led to the opportunity to purchase his own farm, a lifelong dream of his.
Terry enjoyed puns, both good and bad, Ole and Lena jokes, and making up his own jokes. He loved hunting, reading (especially Louis L’ Amour), grilling, and spending time with his family. He was involved in Explorer Scouts, FFA, 4H, CYF youth group. He was also an Awana leader, a member of Houston Lion’s Club, Houston American Legion, Houston Auxiliary Police and a deacon/trustee at his church.
Most important to Terry was his deep and abiding faith in Jesus.
He is survived by his wife Sandy, three daughters, Cassi (Marty) Waldo of Winona, MN, Kimberly (Ted) Wichelt and Shannon (Scott) Hanson both of La Crosse, WI, a son Parker (Megan) Ask of Lewistown, MT, ten grandchildren, Madison (Byron) McNally, Mackenzie Waldo, Lane (Natallie) Waldo, Ahnikah (Donovan) Stevens, Astoria Wichelt, Avan Wichelt, William Hanson, Owen Hanson, Augustus Ask and Sherman Ask, four sisters Ahna Wheeler, Arlouene (Bob) Pickett, Faith Ask and Miriam (Nate) Bawden, two brothers Paul (Janet) Ask and Jonathan Ask, along with numerous aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, a grand-daughter Megan Waldo, two sisters Janice Ask and Carrie Krage, and one brother David Ask.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at Houston Baptist Church, 202 S. Sherman St., Houston, MN. Pastors Nate Bawden and Ed Clay will officiate. Burial will follow in Money Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 6-8 PM at the Schumacher – Kish Funeral Home, 111 S. Oak St., La Crescent, and again at the church on Wednesday from 10 AM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Children’s Miracle Network.
