Thelma "Judy" J. Solie

Judy Solie, 88 of La Crescent, died peacefully on Thursday, June 13, 2024, surrounded by her family. Judy was born September 8, 1935, in La Crosse, WI to Ronald and Thelma (Martinson) Erickson. She graduated from Peterson High School in 1952 and worked at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. On November 23, 1957, she married Carl Solie at Grace Lutheran Church in Peterson, MN. Judy and Carl moved to Houston, MN and raised five children. Judy enjoyed quilting, playing cards, her Norwegian heritage, and every minute she spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Judy and Carl’s memory lives on with their children, Karen (Ronald) Wilke, Susan (Brian) Fiegen, Kristi (Kevin) Knutson, Jennifer (Randy) Bergman, and Jon (Kendra) Solie. Judy was also blessed with 11 grandchildren, Andrew (Haley) Fiegen, Adam (Elaine) Fiegen, Alison (Stephen) Lietzke, Laura (Tony) Schneider, Carli (Sean) Friedel, Evan (Kiera) Bergman, Emilee Bergman, Paige Solie, Morgan Solie, Katie Knutson, and Kyle Knutson. Those blessings have multiplied to 12 great-grandchildren, Mason, Maren, Emmett, Ruby, Evelyn, Theodore, Aurora, Henry, Gabriel, Leo, and Alvin. Grandma Judy’s quilts will be forever cherished by her children and grandchildren. She is further survived by her brother, Ronald (Roseann) Erickson and sister-in-law, Darlene Erickson.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carl; and brother, John Erickson.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:30 am on Monday, June 17, 2024 at the Stone Church Cemetery, Hwy. 76, Houston, MN. Pastor Jeff Franko will officiate. Visitation will be held from 10:30 am until the time of services at the Stone Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred and can be made to the Stone Church Cemetery and The Peterson Station Museum in Peterson, MN.
