Teresa "Tyke" A. Schaitel

Teresa “Tyke” Schaitel was called home suddenly on the evening of October 28th, 2023. Tyke was a woman unlike any other with a spirit you’d not soon forget. She was full of energy, intrigue, positivity; a robust will to keep on keeping on. She had a booming, contagious laugh and an unmistakable enthusiasm for life. She had an easiness to her that allowed you to be yourself with her. She loved and lived freely with a flare that only Tyke possessed. Her nurturing proclivity made her invaluable in the role of a CNA. She spent much of her professional career caring for others with a tender, thoughtful hand and held that same compassion in the lasting friendships that she developed.

She is survived, and sorely missed, by her mother, Linda, and her five brothers, Steve, Bob, Jeff, Randy and Neil.

It was her wish to be buried with her son, Derrick, who also left this world too soon. She will be laid to rest alongside Derrick on Saturday, November 4th, at New Oregon Cemetery in Cresco, IA.

A prayer service will be held at 11 am on Friday, November 3, at Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services of La Crosse with visitation from 10 am until 11 am.
