Tamara Kay Irvine

Tamara (Tammy) Kay Irvine, age 57, passed away on November 19, 2020 in her home. She was born on December 28, 1962 in La Crosse, WI to Robert and Elona (Papenfuss) Stanton. Tammy was baptized at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Nodine, MN and was a member at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in La Crescent. She graduated from La Crescent High School in 1981.

She married the love of her life, Dean Irvine, on November 24, 1995. She worked at Embers Restaurant for many years before starting her career at Kwik Trip, where she was well-known for having candy ready for all of the kids who visited her at work every day. Tammy truly lived life to the fullest and was kind to everyone. She was a loving wife, a proud mother and grandmother, and a loyal friend. Some of her favorite things included hanging out with her dog Bud, reading books, snacking on licorice and goldfish, drinking coffee, and spending time with her family. Tammy touched the lives of many with her warm, friendly personality.

Tammy is survived by her husband, Dean; her children, Shilo Irvine (Caleb McNally) and Amie (Nate) Koxlien; her mother, Elona Stanton; her siblings, Robin Stanton and Robert (Nikki) Stanton, three grandchildren; Evan, Kinsley and Maren, nieces; Mati (Ryan) Pelowski, Kayla Stanton (Jason Johnson), great nieces and nephews; Ryland and Brynlee, aunts and uncles; Tom (Corrine) Stanton, Mavis (Laurel) Millie, Janice (Gene) Baker, Doug (Janice) Goede, and many other extended family members, including special extended family; Pat and Dick Senn.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Stanton; fraternal and maternal grandparents, mother-in-law, Jeanette Irvine; and father-in-law, Thomas Irvine.

Private services will be held at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in La Crescent. Pastor Mark Rieke will officiate. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
