Suzanne "Amah" Welch

Suzanne “Amah” Welch, 69 of Caledonia, MN, passed away at the Tweeten Care Center in Spring Grove, MN on Saturday, May 14, 2022. She was born December 11, 1952, in La Crosse to Bernard and Alice (Shafto) Weiland and graduated from Central High School.

On April 2, 1977, she married Michael Welch in La Crosse and the couple had two sons, Brent, and Reed. Suzanne had worked as a teacher’s assistant for the Caledonia School District for many years. She was also a loving mother to many other kids in the community.

Suzanne was a dedicated mom and grandma who loved spending time with her family. She also enjoyed crafts, visiting Ocean City, MD to see family and visit the beach as well as taking her turtle for walks.

Suzanne is survived by her two sons; Brent Welch of Caledonia and Reed Welch of Nashville, TN; daughter she never had, Sara Viner of Caledonia; three grandchildren, Austin Lau of Onalaska, Sam Adams and Skye Welch both of Caledonia; a sister, Marie Thurston of Maryland; a brother, David (Carol) Weiland of Illinois; and her puppy grandchildren, Coco and Luna. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Dick Weiland and a sister, Lori Patros.

Suzanne’s family would like to thank Michael, Beth and Naomi for their care and support throughout her illness.
