Susan M. Jorgenson

Susan “Susie” Marie Jorgenson passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday May 19, 2024, at Lake Winona Manor in Winona, MN. She was born on June 22, 1956, in La Crosse, WI.

Susie was an avid Green Bay Packer fan.  Hard to find a more devoted fan. She really stuck with the Pack through thick and thin.  She managed the Amoco Gas Station in La Crescent, MN for several years. Amoco was known as the hub of activity in town. It was said that if someone wanted to know what was happening in La Crescent all they had to do was check with Susie and she would fill them in.  Susie was fortunate to have met so many wonderful people that came through the Amoco station and we would especially like to thank her group of “regulars” that came in for coffee every day.  Some would stop by for a quick hello, and some would stay around and visit.  She had many close and thoughtful friends that she met there and was always very grateful for those relationships.

Susie was a member of several community organizations in La Crescent. The highlight of her involvement was being named Applefest “Woman of the Year” in 2005.

Susie is preceded in death by her parents; Rolf “Pete” Jorgenson and Elizabeth “Betty” Jorgenson as well as one brother; David Allen Jorgenson.

She is survived by three brothers: Chuck (Gail) Jorgenson of O’Fallon, IL. Steve (Lisa) Jorgenson of Rochester, MN and John Jorgenson of La Crescent, MN. Nephews: Eric Jorgenson of Carlyle, IL, Scott Jorgenson of Warrenton, MO, Sam Jorgenson of Rochester, MN, Tom Jorgenson of Rochester, MN and Blake Kreitner of O’Fallon, IL.  Nieces: Morgan Kreitner of Nashville, TN and Elizabeth Jorgenson of Rochester, MN.

The family would like to extend a big thank you to the wonderful staffs and management of Lake Winona Manor and La Crescent Health Servies for the care they provided Susie.  We are greatly indebted to them for their care and compassion.

In lieu of flowers please send donations to La Crescent Animal Rescue in La Crescent, MN or the Coulee Region Humane Society in Onalaska, WI.

A visitation will be held to celebrate Susie’s life at The Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in La Crescent, MN on Monday June 10,2024 from 4pm-6pm. Funeral services will be held at the church beginning at 6pm.
