It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Susan L. Hoefer, who peacefully left this world at her home, surrounded by her beloved brother, cherished friends, and her two beloved dogs, Beanie and Mia. Susan's life, filled with remarkable experiences and unwavering dedication, will forever be remembered with love and admiration.

Born on September 30, 1960, Susan's journey through life was marked by resilience and a profound commitment to serving others. She proudly served her country as a member of the United States Army, stationed in Germany. Her time in the military was a testament to her courage and patriotism.

After her honorable discharge from the Army, Susan pursued her passion for nursing, graduating from the Winona State School of Nursing. As a Registered Nurse (RN), she embarked on a fulfilling career, dedicating herself to the care and comfort of those in need.

Susan's career path led her to several prestigious hospitals, including Marshfield Hospital, Mayo Hospital in La Crosse, and Mayo Hospital in Rochester. Her dedication to her patients and her compassionate nature made her a respected figure among her colleagues and a source of comfort to countless individuals during their times of vulnerability.

In her later years, Susan found fulfillment as a traveling nurse, bringing her expertise and compassion to healthcare facilities across the nation. Her adventurous spirit and commitment to her profession left an enduring impact on every community she touched.

Susan was preceded in death by her loving parents, John N. and Betty Hoefer. She is survived by her devoted brother, John C. Hoefer (J.C.), her sister, Karen Schaller, and her brother, Jeff Hoefer and 7 nieces and nephews.

To celebrate Susan's life, a "Celebration of Life" gathering will be held at 4 Sisters Fourth Street Bar on Wednesday, October 11th, from 4 PM to 7 PM. We invite friends and family to join us in sharing stories and memories of Susan, commemorating a life well-lived.

In accordance with her wishes, a private internment will take place at a future date at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery in Spooner, WI.

Susan L. Hoefer will forever remain in our hearts as a symbol of strength, kindness, and dedication to making the world a better place. While we mourn her passing, we also celebrate the beautiful life she lived and the love she shared with all who knew her. May she rest in eternal peace.
