Steven Wade Wamsley was born on 23 May 1972 in Lockbourne Air Force Base, Ohio to Charles and Judith (Gille) Wamsley; and was the last child to be born at this Air Force Base. As an Air Force dependent, he lived in Ohio, Japan, Nebraska, upper Michigan, Montana and Wyoming. He graduated from Cheyenne Central H.S., WY. Steve worked at Fort Leonard Wood, MO and Fort McCoy, WI, before he became disabled. Steve loved playing video games, playing with his dogs and annoying his wife.

Steve married Shannon (Pinkley) Wamsley on 06 August 2010.

Steve is survived by his beloved Wife, his mother, Judith Wamsley of West Salem; brother Michael (Tami) Wamsley of La Crosse; one stepchild Vickie Reese; brother-in-law Brian (Christina) Pinkley of Missouri; nephews Brandon (Anna) Hazlett, Joseph (Kayla) Hazlett and Joshua Schulze; nieces Amy Neel, Briana (William) Beach, and Mikaela Schulze; many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Steve is also survived by Riley, Ruby and Buddy who loved him very much.

Steve was preceded in death by his father Charles R. Wamsley; stepson, Richard Colt Hazlett; grandparents Frank and Ruth Gille and Robert and Hattie Wamsley, Aunt Tammy Gille and Uncle Bruce Bennett.

Interment will be held at 1:00PM on Friday, September 15, 2023, at Woodlawn Cemetery North, (County Rd B, La Crosse)
