Shirley A. Tischer

Shirley A. Tischer, 83, of La Crosse, died on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at the Bethany-Riverside Nursing Facility in La Crosse. She was born on July 29, 1934 in Hokah, Minnesota to Charles and Adeline (Hansen) Shawley.

Shirley is survived by three daughters Barbara (Jim) Spaciel of Slinger, WI, Karen (Howard) Jozefacki of St. Francis, WI and Vicki (Lee) Christenson of Hartford, WI, three sons Bob Shawley of La Crosse, WI, David Tischer of Peoria, AZ and Ron (Lorraine) Tischer of Milwaukee, WI, several grand and great grandchildren, one sister Rosemary (Jim) Burke of Eitzen, MN, a sister-in-law Kathy Shawley of Fond du Lac, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and best friend, Duane, a brother Wayne Shawley and two sisters Kate Buege and Elaine Johnston.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at the Schumacher – Kish Funeral & Cremation Services, 200 West Ave. S., La Crosse. Pastor Lisa Shank will officiate. Private burial will take place in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Hokah, MN at a later date. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 AM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred. The family would like to extend a warm thank you to the staff of Hearten House II and Bethany Riverside for the kindness and love they showed Shirley during her time there.
