Shirley Mae Geiwitz

Shirley Mae (Copus) Geiwitz age 74, passed away comfortably on August 7, 2018 at the Lakeview Health Center in West Salem, WI. Shirley was born the 2 ^nd of 8 children on February 2, 1944 to Clifford and Tina (Groothoff) Copus in Wisconsin Dells. The family eventually made their way to La Crosse where she met Jim Geiwitz. They married on December 16, 1967 and had 3 sons. Jim preceded her in death on April 1, 2002.

Following in the footsteps of her mother, Shirley was the traditional stay at home mom and homemaker. She enjoyed playing bingo, watching soap operas, visiting with relatives and most importantly raising and caring for her three boys, who meant the world to her.

Shirley is survived by her three sons; Steve, John and Michael all of La Crosse; four grandsons, Brian, Zack, Wyatt and Liam; one sister, Bev Christianson of Baraboo, WI; one brother, Clifford (Rose) Copus of West Salem, WI; she is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins who cared for her deeply. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim; her parents, Clifford and Tina; one sister, Florence; four brothers, Tommy, Johnny, Marty and Billy.

Shirley will be cremated with the assistance of the Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services of La Crosse. A Celebration of Life is planned for Saturday, September 1 ^st at 11:00 A.M. at Ochsner Park in Baraboo, WI.
