Shirley J. Dolan

Shirley Jane Dolan, 82 of La Crescent, MN passed away on Sunday, November 6, 2022, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN. 

Shirley was born June 23, 1940, in Dubuque, IA to Elmer and Irene (Wilkes) Miller. She lived in Dubuque, IA, and East Dubuque, IL the majority of their lives until 2015 when they moved to La Crescent to be near their family.

Shirley was a stay-at-home mom to their two children. She then went to work in the central services department at Mercy Hospital for 16 years. She married the absolute love of her life, Thomas Dolan, Sr. on November 22, 1958, in Clinton, IA. They were just two weeks shy of their 64th anniversary when she passed. Shirley loved her family more than anything and her life revolved around family.

Left to miss her included her husband, Thomas Dolan, Sr. until his death on October 12, 2024. Her children, Connie (Dale) Thesing of La Crescent, MN and Thomas (Kay) Dolan, Jr. of Hokah, MN; her grandchildren, Victor (Kathy) Buhr of Cuba City, WI, Christina (Brent) Thesing of La Crescent, MN, Thomas (Katie) Dolan III of Kasson, MN and Savannah Dolan of Orlando, FL; her great-grandchildren, McKenna, Lauren and Natalie Thesing, Thomas “Jay” Dolan IV, Eli and Hattie Dolan, Claira, Kathryn and William Droessler; her siblings, Sharon “Sherry” Menadue until her death in 2024, Kay Kass of Dubuque, IA, Allen Frazier of Cedar Rapids, IA, Marlyn Frazier of Dubuque, IA, Rick Frazier and Bonnie Drury. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Harold Miller, Steven Frazier, Jack Oretel, Darlene Reynolds, and Carol Tatro.
