Sharon S. Kvam

January 16, 1943 — July 3, 2021

Sharon (Gollnick) Kvam, 78 years young, a long-time resident of Onalaska, Wisconsin, passed away in peace on Saturday, July 3, 2021. She was under the care of St. Croix Hospice in Viroquoa, WI. She was born in 1943, in La Crosse to Albert and Rose Gollnick. Sharon married Stanley Kvam on Christmas Day in 1961 in the Chapel at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church while on leave from the Army Air Base at the Presidio on the San Francisco Bay.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Stanley, son, Randy, her Aunt Lois Gollnick, her brothers, John, Ronald, Steven, who are now waiting for her to join them.

Sharon loved the simplest pleasures in life. She loved to cook, bake, knit and cross-stitch. Sharon’s first job was working at a Woolworth’s soda fountain. One of her accomplishments was acknowledged as a Star of the New Year in Dietary as a cook for over 10 years. She hated to have her picture taken but she did smile for the photo in the newspaper. Sharon enjoyed country music and loved Oak Ridge Boys, Willie Nelson, and the Gather Gospels shows.

A great night is being in her lovely home with her feet up. Sharon’s dream was to have a log home in the mountains near her sisters in Northern California. And we can’t forget her love for animals, especially her dogs. She was definitely a pet advocate for Humane Society.

Grandkids loved her because she spent time playing video games, baking treats, and knitting them blankets. She will be missed by all especially those who loved her the most, her daughter & son-in-law, Laurie (Calvin) Weston, son, Eric (Amanda) Kvam, son, Michael Kvam, Sisters Kathy Kurth, Cindy Gollnick, Kenneth & Marjorie Sprosty, grandkids, nieces, and nephews.
