Sharon R. Earp, of La Crosse, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, June 26th, 2020, after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Espanola, New Mexico on August 22, 1954 to Roy and Carol (Streblow) Marshall. Sharon graduated from La Crosse Central High School class of 1972. On July 21st, 1973, she married Steven Earp.
After attending North Central Bible College in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Sharon and Steve moved back to La Crosse to start a family as she focused her time raising her two children. In 1986, Sharon and Steve created their next chapter in life starting SSE Music in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Through SSE Music, Sharon helped to support and enhance the quality of music education programs throughout western Wisconsin. Sharon ran the company’s finances and was dedicated to her business, customers and employees.
Sharon was a member of Onalaska United Methodist Church and her deep faith in Jesus and love of God carried her through to her final breath. She was a talented musician who found joy in playing the piano and often expressed her faith through music in multiple church venues. Sharon was an active volunteer with many of the city’s major events including Riverfest, Irishfest, Rotary Lights, and served as the president of the La Crosse Northside Business Association.
Sharon was kind, selfless, strong and beloved by all whose lives she touched. Family was always most important to her. She is survived by her husband Steve of 46 years as well as her two children, Nichole (Derrick) Dawson of La Crosse, WI and Jeremy Earp (Paula) of Lutz, Florida. Sharon was a devoted and caring grandmother and she loved her grandchildren more than anything in the world. She is additionally survived by her grandchildren; Samantha Dawson, Natalie Dawson, Dylan Earp, Katelyn Earp and Evan Earp. She is also survived by her mother, Carol Marshall and brother, Dean (Amy) Marshall of Santa Barbara, California. Sharon’s in-laws, cousins, aunts, nieces and nephews were also very special to her.
Sharon was preceded in death by her father, Roy Marshall, and her Aunt, Beulah Marshall.
There will be a small private funeral for immediate family. A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date given the current circumstances.
