Sandy Jean (Jergenson) Sneath, age 60, of La Crescent, passed away on Monday, March 1, 2021 surrounded by her family at Mayo Clinic Health System – La Crosse. She was born in La Crosse on September 29, 1960 to Milton “Yogi” and Nancy (Zahn) Jergenson. Sandy graduated from La Crescent High School in 1978 and went on to study finance and accounting at Western Wisconsin Technical College where she received her associate’s degree. Sandy married Robin Sneath on June 15, 2007.
Sandy worked as a Title Examiner/Researcher with American Title in the 1990’s and was hired by The Title Company in 1999 where she happily stayed for the next 21 years. She lifted heavy books in Registers of Deeds and County Recorders offices from Duluth to Dubuque and everywhere in between and was happiest when she was on the road but also did not mind coming into the office every once in awhile to cause a little mischief. Sandy loved her job, her coworkers and all of the people she met along the way. If you were lucky enough, you might have even caught a glimpse of her slinging bloody mary’s at the back bar of Del’s Bar every Oktoberfest.
Sandy’s life revolved around her family. She was a loving wife, a proud mama bear and the best grandma to her two grandsons. She was a friend to all. Sandy had a smile that could light up a room and the kind of personality people just wanted to be around. To know her was to love her. She had the biggest heart and took pride in making the people she loved smile and laugh. She never missed one of her kid’s sporting events no matter how far away and was always the first to pick up a nerf gun and start a war with her grandkids most of the time letting them win because that is what good grandmas do. She loved to spend time down by the river, cook, play cards, go on road trips, cheer on her Minnesota Vikings and just be around the people she cared about most.
While other moms were receiving flowers on special occasions, Sandy was getting tomato plants. Gardening was one of her greatest passions, and she and her husband would drive up to her brother’s farm every night after work in the summer to water their garden. When it came time for picking, if you were lucky enough to receive one of her famous ice cream buckets full of pickles, you knew you were one of Sandy’s favorites.
Sandy loved to sit in her front yard and drink a Busch Light out of a tiny glass with the people across the street, her cousin down the block and all of the other family, friends and neighbors that would stop by to see her. She would chase the sun around her front yard and often into the street trying to soak every last bit of sunshine the day had to offer. She dreamed of the day she would be able to move down south and pick seashells by the ocean with her husband by her side.
Sandy leaves her loving memory to be cherished by her husband, Robin; children, Jesse (Lace) Jergenson, Jenny Lingard, and Josh Lingard; two grandsons, Ryver Hansen and Ryder Hoff; sisters, Lynn (Rich) Ellis and Sue Jergenson; brother, Skip (Kris) Jergenson; nieces and nephews, Becky, Julie, Dusty, Hunter, Heidi, Autumn, Annie and Ammie; father-in-law, Robert (Sharon) Sneath; mother-in-law, Marilyn Sneath; step-children, Ryan Sneath and Tia Sneath; sister-in-laws, Kathy (Randy) Wagner and Sheila Morrison; and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Sandy’s family would like to express their appreciation to all of the staff at Mayo Clinic Health System for the compassionate care she received during her battle with cancer.
