Sandra L. Davis

Sandra Lea Davis, age 78, of Onalaska, passed away surrounded by her family, on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse. She was born to Theron and Veda (Tiser) Burrington on March 19, 1944, in Richland Center, WI, and was baptized in the Richland Center Nazarene Church on October 1 of that same year. She married Gordon Davis on June 27, 1959, and they lived in Richland Center for a year before moving to La Crosse. In 1969 the couple moved to Onalaska and have lived there ever since.

Sandra worked for many years in the Garment Industry before getting her associates degree from WWTC. She then went on to work at Midwest Security Insurance until her retirement. Family was the biggest part of Sandra’s life, whether it was spending precious time with the grandkids and great grandkids or watching their sporting events. She never missed a Ferris State Bulldogs hockey game, where her grandson, Jacob, plays. She enjoyed watching the Packers, Brewers, and Minnesota Wild as well. Sandra loved to camp and spend time with family. She also loved the holidays, especially decorating and getting the family together for Christmas. Even though her title was mom, grandma, and great grandma, she will be remembered most for her heart of gold and her caring nature. She truly was a mom to us all.

Sandra is survived by her husband of 63 years, Gordon; children, Todd (Michele) Davis and LeAnn (Jason) Dirks; grandkids, Nathan “Nate” (Amber) Davis, Olivia (Josh) Pellowski, Brody Jenson, and Jacob Dirks; great grandkids, Talan Van Riper, Harrison Pellowski, Jaxson Davis, Parker Davis, Ivy Pellowski, and Murphy Pellowski; brothers, Ron (Joan) Burrington and Ken (Janet) Burrington; sister-in-law, Sandy (Steve) Welte; brothers-in-law, Don Davis, Bob Powell, and Les Ladd; and many nieces and nephews.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Christopher Davis; sisters-in-law, Veda Powell, Karron (John) Cupp, and Donna Ladd; and brother-in-law, Rick Davis.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 19, 2022, at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 1215 Redwood St, Onalaska, WI 54650. Pastor David Baumgarn will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at church. Burial will take place at Onalaska City Cemetery.
