CPL Ryan Lee Vue, 24, of La Crosse, WI, passed away peacefully after a very long battle with cancer, in his home Sunday morning surrounded by his loved ones. Ryan attended Central High School in La Crosse where he played on the tennis team, and also successfully bluffed his way through 3 years of playing the trumpet in band. After graduating high school, he felt his calling to follow in his cousin’s footsteps to become a United States Marine. He joined April of 2016, receiving his trident and graduating in June of 2016. He was stationed at Camp Pendleton 2nd Marines 4th Battalion. He felt the Marines guided him to become the man in which he was meant to be. Pulling the strength out of him that he knew lay within him. He was never prouder then when he married his beautiful wife Pai in March of 2019. Gaining a son, Noah he could call his own. Ryan's passion was fishing, any day or night of the week you could find him along the banks of the Mississippi doing what he loved best. Trying to get one bigger than the day before. He was also an avid huntsman. He could sit for hours talking guns and tree stands. There is no doubt he is off somewhere on a great Outdoorsman Adventure.
He is survived by his wife, Pai Vue and son Noah Lor; his mom, Nancy (Randy) Bakkestuen; his father, Lee (Yeng) Vue; his brothers and sisters, Selena, Alex, Gabriel, and Violet; grandmother, Mao Som and grandparents, Cher Chai and Mao Vue and Randy and Cindy Bakkestuen; cousins (Brothers in Arms), Brandon and Nickluas Martinez, along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He is predeceased in death by his grandfather Yer Som; uncle, Jonathan Bakkestuen; and aunt, Shelly Miller.
