Ruth Ann Skroch, 80, formerly of Onalaska WI. passed away on Friday, February 16, 2018 at Mariposa Point of Mesa in Mesa AZ.
She was born July 26, 1937 to Roman and Gertrude Marsolek in Independence WI. As a youth, she enjoyed spending time with her friends and going to the local dance hall on a regular basis. She also enjoyed fishing with her dad.
On August 24, 1957, she married Jerome Dominic Skroch of Independence. They moved to Eau Claire WI. In 1958 their first son Terrence was born. In 1961 their second son Gary was born.
Ruth and her family moved to Onalaska in 1963 where she worked for many years at the Bank of Onalaska. She also volunteered at St. Patrick’s Parish throughout the years.
Her interests included tending to her flower beds around the yard, traveling around the country with their close friends and watching Wisconsin sports teams on television with her husband Jerry. She was a big Packer and Brewer fan and could recite the names of many players. She also was known to take an occasional trip to the casino for a bit of fun at the slots.
She always enjoyed trips to visit their sons, daughter in law and grandson in the Twin Cities and their visits to see her and Jerry in Onalaska for holidays, weekends and special family events.
Ruth is survived by her two sons, Terry and Gary (Patty); grandson Hayden; and a sister Ramona Waletzki (Conrad) who live in Eau Claire.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Jerry.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday February 26 th 2018 at 10:30am at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 1031 Main St., Onalaska WI. Father Delbert Malin will officiate. Burial will take place in the Onalaska City Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 to 6:00 pm Sunday February 25 th 2018 at Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services, 907 Sand Lake Road, Onalaska, and on February 26 th from 9:30am until the time of services at the church.
