Ruth Elise (Mosher) Marco was born in La Crosse County on November 3, 1932, to Godfred Mosher and Bertha (Dobrunz) Mosher. She married Joseph F. Marco on June 18, 1951, in Waukon, Iowa.
Ruth was a lifelong member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church. Being baptized December 18, 1932, and later confirmed in 1945. She had a very strong faith which she instilled in her children. She passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, and went to her final home in heaven.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister, and loved her family with all her heart. In her empty nester years, she pursued many interests. She experimented with photography, loved to draw, and just loved to learn how to use new technology. She got a newer updated cell phone in April and had it mastered in no time. She loved to read the Bible and a good mystery book. Audiobooks were a real blessing giving her the ability to continue these pursuits as she aged.
Ruth is survived by her two daughters, Deborah Koss of Rochester, MN and Rachel (Gary) Senn of La Crescent, MN; four grandchildren, Rebekah (Lee) Kirgis of Rochester, Leah Koss and Neil Nathan of Dobbs Ferry, NY, Sara (Paul) Wagner of La Crescent, and Andrew (Kasey) Senn of Onalaska; and eight great grandchildren, Nora and Owen Kirgis of Rochester, Taylor, Mason, Tia, and Jaxon Wagner of La Crescent, and Ava and Noah Senn of Onalaska. She is further survived by a sister, Marie (Vernal) Dahl of Onalaska, and many nieces and nephews.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and son-in-law, Terry Koss.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1201 Avon St., La Crosse, WI 54603. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Pastor David Leistekow will officiate. Burial will follow in the Onalaska City Cemetery.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Bethany St. Joseph for their wonderful care they provided Ruth during her residency there and also the staff at Mayo Clinic Health System Hospice for their compassionate care in her final days.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in her memory. Nothing would make her happier than being able to give this final gift to the church.
