Rudolph "Rudy" F. Grimek

Rudolph "Rudy" Grimek, passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2022, after a long and well-fought battle with prostate cancer.  He was born on May 31, 1943, to Dora and Joseph Grimek of Onalaska, WI.

After graduation from Onalaska High School in 1961, Rudy had many jobs including police officer for the La Crosse Police Department, game warden, owner/operator of the grocery store Coulee Superette, sporting goods store owner, and insurance agent, among others.  But his most prized job was being a father to his two children, Mark and Tracey.  Rudy was married to Ruth Ann Foth for 33 years before she passed away in 2001.

Rudy loved all of the animals that he encountered.  He grew up searching for beetles with his brother Herbert and enjoyed hunting and fishing the back sloughs of the Mississippi.  He never hesitated to try to help an animal in need and he rehabilitated several creatures injured by vehicles over the years.

Rudy is survived by his brother, Herbert, and his two children, Mark and Tracey.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth, and parents, Dora and Joseph.

A private memorial service will be held for his immediate family.
