Roy Amsrud

Roy Amsrud, 69, of Mundelein, IL and formerly of La Crosse passed away on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville IL. He was born on August 11, 1948 in La Crosse Wisconsin to the late Milton and Mary Jane (Tevis) Amsrud.

He is survived by his son, Eric (Nicole) Amsrud of Houston, Texas, two grandchildren Aubrey and Hudson Amsrud of Houston, whom he adored, sister, Gail Hayes, brother, Gene (Patricia) Amsrud.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Karen (Amsrud) Larson and Sandra (Amsrud) Hoosen.

Roy graduated from Aquinas High School in 1966 and University of Wisconsin – La Crosse in 1970. He was a Salesman his entire life breaking records for most candy bars sold while still in school. He took his first job while still attending college working for West Bend & Co. He travelled by train to Winona, Minn. walking the halls of a college dormitory selling cookware to girls about to be married. He also was a national sales manager for Chicago Cutlery, Fiskars, Wilton Co. and Olde Thompson calling on all the major retailers within the housewares industry throughout his career. Roy retired in December 2017.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 130 Losey Blvd S., La Crosse. Rev. Peter Raj will officiate. Private burial will be held in the Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9 AM until the time of service. A luncheon will follow the mass at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred. The Schumacher – Kish Funeral & Cremation Services, La Crosse Chapel is assisting the family.
