Ronald H. Kindt

Ronald H. Kindt, 88 of La Crescent, passed away on Sunday, July 18, 2021, at the Springbrook Village in La Crescent. He was born July 20, 1932, in Winona, Minnesota to Harry and Beatrice (Clark) Kindt and graduated from Winona Senior High School. Following graduation Ron served in the United States Navy. He met his future wife, Jeanette “Jan” Ashbaugh at a dance at the Tacoma U.S.O. Ron and Jan became engaged and were married on January 1, 1955, in Long Beach, California.

After Ron’s discharge from the Navy, they moved back to Winona where Ron graduated from Winona State University. They moved to New Albin, Iowa where Ron taught at Kee High School in Lansing, Iowa. They moved to La Crescent in 1960 and Ron taught at Lincoln Middle School in La Crosse for over 25 years until his retirement.

Ron enjoyed woodworking, fishing on Lake Winona and traveling with his wife and grandchildren.

Ron is survived by three sons; Steve (Teri) Kindt of Rhinelander, WI; Ken (Sue) Kindt of West Salem and Jim Kindt of La Crescent; four grandchildren, Jamie Kindt of La Crosse, Kyra (fiancée, James Sowinski) Kindt of Rhinelander, Amber (Evan) Londergan of Holmen and Brandon (fiancée Mackenzie Bruce) Kindt of Holmen along with two great-grandchildren, Birdie Sowinski and Archer Londgren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jan on June 18, 2009.As well as by his parents and a sister, Donna Anderson.
