Ronald "Ron" Weise

Ronald J. “Ron” Weise, 83 of La Crosse, passed away on Monday, November 15, 2021, at the Tomah VA Rehab Center. He was born August 21, 1938, in La Crosse to Harold and Irma (Teff) Weise and graduated from Aquinas High School in 1956.

Ron proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1957 until his discharge in 1959. On June 13, 1959, he married Antoinette “Toni” Banasik at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in La Crosse. Ron had worked as an electrician for Dairyland Power Company for 33 years until his retirement in 2000.

Ron enjoyed playing softball, basketball, fishing, and yardwork. He also loved spending time at his cabin up north near Chetek.

In addition to his wife Toni, Ron is survived by four children; Regina (Gary) Maulbetsch of Waunakee, WI, Jody Weise of La Crosse, Todd (Chris) Weise of Becker, MN and Ronda (Bret) Tschumper of Windsor, WI; 10 grandchildren, Max and Macie Maulbetsch, Ryan (Callie) Smith, Jenna and Trevor Smith, Tate and Corrie Weise, Trent, Ty and Taylor Tschumper; a great-grandson, Rowan Smith; three brothers, Tom (Sally) Weise of Onalaska, Gerald (Reni) Weise of lake City, MN and Harold “Joe” (James) Weise of New Orleans along with a special brother-in-law, William “Billy” (Kathy) Banasik of La Crosse. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, an infant sister, five brothers-in-law and a nephew.

Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association or to the Mary, Mother of the Church Building Fund.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. Monday, November 22, 2021, at Mary, Mother of the Church Parish with Rev. Brian D. Konopa officiating. Private entombment will be held in Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the Mass.
