Ronald G. "Ron" Butzman

August 14, 1941 — April 7, 2019

Ron Butzman, 77, of Onalaska went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 7, 2019 at Gundersen Health System of La Crosse, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on August 14, 1941 to Roland and Dorothy (La Fleur) Butzman in Lacrosse. He was a 1959 graduate of Logan High School. He was united in marriage to Judy Lynn Kraft on August 25, 1962 at Trinity Lutheran Church. The couple made their home in the Milwaukee area and were blessed with three children. Ron and Judy shared 56 years of marriage together remaining committed to each other and their family.

Ron taught in the Menomonee Falls School District for 31 years as a Physical Education teacher, coach and Drivers Ed instructor. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who lived his faith outwardly. He was an outstanding athlete when young with a hard work ethic throughout his life. He enjoyed watching the Brewers/Packers/Badgers games, hunting, fishing, gardening, biking/walking with Judy and their many canine companions as well as being a good steward of the gifts he was blessed with.

Ron and Judy were members of Bethany Evangelical Free Church, and he cherished time together with fellow believers studying God’s word. Ron’s generous, loving spirit will forever remain in the hearts and lives of those who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Judy; daughter Dana (Andy) Logemann of Neenah WI; son Ryan (Cynthia) Butzman of Maple Park, Il, daughter Nicole (Brad) Richmond of Waukesha, WI, Grandchildren, Kelly (Zack) Wilson, Emily (Ryan) Klitzke, Noah and Mayah Butzman, Jake and Ellie Richmond. He is further survived by siblings Sandra (Dave) Sanding, Carol (Doug) Van Dyck, Terry (Judy) Butzman, Mary (Gary) Hefti and Candy (Dave) Hefti; his sister-in-law Joan (David) Schlueter along with several nieces, nephews and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, mother and father in-law, Fred and Evelyn Kraft as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith” (2 Timothy 4:7).

Memorial services will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at Bethany Evangelical Free Church, 3936 County Rd. B La Crosse. Rev. Ray Miller will officiate. Friends may call on the family at the church on Saturday from 9:30 A.M. until the time of services.
