Roger A. Knudtson, 87, of Onalaska, WI, died on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at his home. Roger Allen Knudtson was born on September 19, 1935, in Jackson County, WI. He was the son of Burton and Florence (Johnson) Knudtson. Roger married Mary Ann White Eagle in 1961. He later married Jean Drecktrah in 1973. Roger graduated from Holmen High School in 1953. He enlisted in the USMC and served in the Korean War. Roger was employed by Trane Co. and Altec until retiring in 1999 and was a member of the Trane 25-year club and the American Legion. He was a lifetime member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Onalaska. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, walking, biking, reading, woodworking, watching NASCAR Chevrolet races, and especially spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Roger is survived by his wife of 50 years; Jean, five children; Kim (Eric) Helgerson, Dawn (Jeff) Wessels, Kevin Knudtson, Kimberly Sisbach, and Tamara (Chris) Beebe, twelve grandchildren; Jesica, Brandon, K.C.(Nan), Gus (Hannah), Travis, Caleb (Paige), Kenedy (Cole), Katia (Richard), Grace, Maya, Samuel, Neva; ten great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ethel Greene. He was preceded in death by both of his parents, four brothers and three sisters. Memorial services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Onalaska with burial to follow. Friends and family may call on the family at church on Saturday morning from 10 am until the time of services. The family requests that any memorials be made to St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.
