Robert J. Twite

Robert J. “Bob” Twite, 84 of La Crosse passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at the Benedictine Manor. He was born December 16, 1934 in La Crosse to Peter and Violet (Munkel) Twite and graduated from Aquinas High School.

On June 21, 1958 he married Diane Poellinger at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in La Crosse. Bob had worked in the parts department at Gateway Transportation for 21 years. He later worked at Dahl Ford Trucking and retired from La Crosse Truck Center in 1996.

Bob was an avid Packers, Brewers, Bucks and Badgers fan. He loved bowling and playing golf.

Bob is survived by his wife of 61 years, Diane; a son, Mike (Suzie) Twite of Eau Claire; three daughters, Patty Schlemmer, Joan (Jeff) Beirne and Julie (Jeff) Breidel all of La Crosse; six grandsons, Alex and Nick Breidel, Peter and Simon Twite, Austin (Eva) Beirne and Tyler Beirne; a sister, Audrey Rother of Farmington, MN and a brother, Glenn Twite. He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Jillian Zoerb and a brother, Gene Twite.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, August 12th in the Marian Chapel at the Cathedral of St. Joseph the Workman. Entombment will follow in St. Francis of Assisi Mausoleum, Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 9:30 A.M. until the time of Mass.
