Robert Allen Jorde (68) of Winona, MN passed away on June 15th, 2024 at Mulder Healthcare Facility in West Salem, WI after a courageous 2 year battle with lung, bone, and brain cancer.
Born on May 8th 1956 in Winona, MN to Merlin and Joan (Munson) Jorde. Bob was an avid fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed music and he was a heck of a guitar player he had an incredible voice, and he was even in a few bands as a teenager. He loved his yearly hunting trips to South Dakota with his dog Loki but if you were to ask him he would've told you his favorite past time was spending time with his daughter and his grandson.
Bob met Heidi (Literski) Pervisky in 1976 at Vocational School and they married in 1977. They later divorced but remained friends.
In October of 1980 his best friend and only child was born, Bob always said he didn't know the true meaning of love until he saw his baby girl for the first time. He was a loving and devoted father, and he always showed up for Sarah. He never missed a volleyball game, a choir concert or a solo ensemble, and He took every opportunity to tell Sarah how much he loved her and how she was the best thing that ever happened to him. His famous line, "I love you more than words can express" will remain with Sarah forever.
In 2003 Bob was promoted to "Grandpa" with the birth of his only grandchild, Evan Tooley. Bob enjoyed every second with his Buddy. He was incredibly proud of Evan. He always said Evan was his good luck charm because he was born on opening day of gun/deer season and that year he got his biggest buck.
Bob had a way to light up any room he walked into. He had the most amazing smile, and the bluest eyes. He was funny, outgoing, kind, and incredibly charming. He always stood up for the underdog. To know him was to love him.
Bob struggled with alcoholism for the majority of his adult life. But in 2022 he decided he'd had enough and he quit drinking. He was incredibly proud of his sobriety. He received his Cancer diagnosis soon after, but remained incredibly positive throughout it all.
Bob was preceeded in death by his parents, his grandparents, and a son-in-law Mark Tooley. He's survived by his daughter Sarah, his grandson Evan, his son-in-law Calvin Gehri, his 2nd family the Rumpeas, and his dear friend and guardian Linda Nelson.
Bob will be terribly missed by all who loved him. The world will be a little less bright without him but we'll take comfort in knowing he's no longer suffering. Sarah and Evan will forever be proud of his courage and tenacity during his battle with Cancer.
The family would like to thank the staff at Lake Tomah Center, Mulder Healthcare Facility, and the hospice staff at St. Croix for the compassionate care that was shown to Bob.
Per Bob's request there will be no services. Bob wouldn't want anyone to be sad when they remember him, in his words he had a good life, the best. Please feel free to honor him privately, go for a long drive with the music blasting, enjoy the peace of a trout stream. More than anything he'd want you to smile.
I love you Daddy, sleep tight, and dream about angels.
