Robert L. Gaustad, Sr.

Robert L. Gaustad, Sr., 78, of La Crosse, WI passed away on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at his home. He was born on September 8, 1942 in La Crosse, WI to Norman and Florence (Sanford) Gaustad. In his younger days Bob enjoyed ice skating. He attended Central High School in La Crosse where he met his high school sweetheart, Janice. They were married on December 15, 1962 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in La Crosse. Bob loved hunting, fishing and spending time with his family at the boathouse on the Black River riding jet skis. He always enjoyed a competitive game of water basketball. If he would lose, he always wanted a rematch. Bob had worked as a professional baker, working at multiple establishments in the La Crosse area. In his later years he enjoyed driving his Pontiac convertible around town, no matter how cold it was. Bob was an awesome husband and father who loved his family very much.

He is survived by his wife Janice, one daughter Crystal (Daryl) Hoeritz of Ettrick, two sons Robert (Lynne) Gaustad, Jr. of Holmen and Jonathan Gaustad of Onalaska, three grandchildren Caleigh Gaustad, Siara Gaustad and Braeden Gaustad, one sister Janice (Greg) Roellich of La Crosse, three brothers Richard Miller of La Crosse, David (Annette) Gaustad of San Diego, CA and Gregory (Jen) Gaustad of Endeavor, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Ronald.
