Robert L. Dammon, age 92, a life-long resident of La Crosse, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 22, 2023 at his home surrounded by family. He was born on October 21, 1931 in La Crosse, Wis. to Oliver and Opal Dammon.
Bob graduated from La Crosse Central High School in 1949, where he starred as a running back on the football team. In 1952, he married his high school sweetheart, Ardell (Hampton) Dammon. Bob worked in production scheduling at Trane Company for 41 years, before retiring in 1995.
Bob remained an active outdoorsman throughout his life, enjoying hunting, fishing, and trapping. He played fast-pitch softball for Quality Lumber Co. and Trane Co. teams and enjoyed bowling as a member of Hex Nuts. The Green Bay Packers were a source of joy and frustration for him throughout his life.
We will miss his wonderful sense of humor, his adventurous spirit, and his love of family.
