Robert “Bing” Brieske, 63, of La Crosse, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, November 24, 2021, after a courageous 10-month battle with cancer. He was born February 19, 1958, in La Crosse to Robert O. and Marie (Asselin) Brieske and graduated from Central High School in 1976.
On October 11, 1980, he married Kathleen “Kathy” Balzer in La Crosse. Bing had worked as a production supervisor for the La Crosse Trane Company for most of his career and Chart Energy and Chemical in La Crosse. He retired in February 2021 as the night service advisor at River States Truck and Trailer.
Bing was an avid softball player in his younger years. He enjoyed playing golf, watching football, and working in his yard.
Bing is survived by his wife, Kathy of La Crosse; three brothers, James Brieske of La Crosse, Steve (Bobbi) Brieske of San Diego, CA and Paul Brieske of Orange County, CA. his mother-in-law, Dolores Slungaard of La Crosse; a sister and brother-in-law, Diane (Dave) Hammond of Milwaukee along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Amanda Brieske on September 7, 2015; a sister, Pat Brieske; a brother, Tom “Foock” Brieske and his father-in-law, Ken Balzer.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 2-4 pm on Saturday, December 4, 2021, at Timmers Ten Mile Pub, W 4516 Eddie Avenue, La Crosse.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Gundersen Oncology Department or Gundersen Hospice.
