Robert “Bob” Balduzzi, 83, of Onalaska, Wisconsin passed away on Saturday, April 7, 2018 after a courageous battle with lymphoma. Bob was born in La Crosse, Wisconsin to Marie (Lang) and Bernard Balduzzi on June 15, 1934. He graduated from Aquinas High School and attended St. Mary’s College for 3 years. He served in the Army in Japan from 1956-1958. Bob was united in marriage to Suzann Kane on Oct. 11 th , 1958. He was owner and operator of Balduzzi Lumber where he was a master woodworker and designer. Bob also owned and operated Red Sails Resort for many years. Bob was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, K of C Club, Rotarian for 30 years, charter member of Brice Prairie Conservation Club, Boy Scout leader, member of the German Sister City group, and served on the Riverland Electric Board.
Bob loved to travel, visiting over 50 countries with his wife. Bob’s pride and joy was teaching his granddaughters how to golf during his retirement. “Duzzi” was an avid golfer, bridge player and Republican.
He is survived by his wife, Suzann, his sons David (Sandie), his children Nicolas, Kimberly, Michael and stepson Brendan; Daniel (Karen), their children Annie and Allison. Special friend Suzanne L Balduzzi. Preceded in death by his parents and infant son, Joseph.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, April 14, 2018 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Onalaska with Monsignor Steven Kachel officiating. Family and friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9:00 AM until the time of services. Military honors will be provided following the Mass. There will be a Celebration of Life at Cedar Creek following the ceremony. In lieu of flowers, memorials directed to Aquinas Catholic Schools and the American Cancer Society.
