Robert A. Affeldt

Robert Arthur Affeldt, 83, of La Crosse and formerly of La Crescent, MN, passed away at Lakeview Healthcare Center on Monday, January 4, 2021 from complications of COVID-19.

He was born in North Bend, WI, on January 4, 1938, to Arthur and Ethel (Anderson) Affeldt.  He attended school at Gale-Ettrick.  Bob started working at an early age for Tranberg Feed Mill in North Bend.  He married Sue Grant at English Lutheran Church on Sept. 10, 1966.

Bob was a member of the UAW union and worked at Norplex for over 30 years.  He also drove school bus for Ready Bus Line for over 35 years.  Bob was a member of the Eastern Star Lodge in La Crescent and very proud to be a Mason and a Shriner.  He and Sue loved to vacation with family and friends and by themselves.  Their two favorite places were Hawaii and Ephraim, WI, in Door County.

He is survived by his son, Joel (Deb) Affeldt and his grandchildren, Marie, Jackson and Sawyer, one brother, Wayne (Darlene) Affeldt, sister-in-law Mary Affeldt, a niece Dawn Affeldt and her children, Ethan and Ella Beal, a nephew Eric (Jenny) Affeldt and their children, Zach and Grace.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sue, his brother Vern and his parents.

There will be a private family burial at Prince of Peace Cemetery in La Crescent, MN. For friends and family who wish to give condolences, a drive through visitation will be held on Saturday, January 23 from 12:00 to 2:00 pm at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 21 North Hill Street, La Crescent, MN.
