Rita Mae Hutson

Rita Mae Hutson, 91, of La Crosse, WI, died February 5, 2024 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 6, 1932 in La Crosse to William C. and Annette M. (LeJeune) Brown. Rita married Philip J. Hutson on November 21, 1953 in La Crosse, WI. Rita was a loving wife and mother with a vibrant personality that lit up a room. She was a volunteer at Mayo Clinic Franciscan Skemp for over 15 years frequently as the “mail lady”. She is survived by her husband; five children: Jeff (Ginger) Hutson, Tim (Terri) Hutson, Ann (John) Bills, Sue (Fred) Glasbrenner, and Kris (Jeff) Seebeck; fourteen grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two brothers: William J. (Ellie) Brown of La Crosse and Jack F. (Mary) Brown of Beaumont, TX. She was preceded in death by two brothers: Richard C. Brown and Kenneth E. (Nancy) Brown.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 17th at 10:00 AM at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in La Crosse with visitation starting at 9:00 AM. The Reverend Rick Roberts will officiate. Private entombment for the family will be at Catholic Cemetery. Luncheon will be held immediately after the Mass in Holy Trinity’s Leo Hall.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Rita to Holy Trinity Catholic Church or Mayo Clinic Franciscan Health System.
