Richard T. Weisbecker

Richard T. Weisbecker, 86, of La Crosse, passed away on Monday, February 5, 2024 at the Gundersen Health System in La Crosse. He was born on November 15, 1937 in La Crosse to Theodore and Dorothy (Lundemo) Weisbecker. Richard was a 1955 graduate of Aquinas High School and graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1960. He married Elaine Reget on October 14, 1961 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Richard had worked as an engineer at Trane Company for 41 years, retiring in 2001. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of the Knights of Columbus and an active member of Mary, Mother of the Church Parish.

He is survived by one daughter, Anne (Kevin) Kappauf of La Crescent, three sons, Tom (Kathy) Weisbecker of Hayward, WI, Rob (Nancy) Weisbecker of Germantown, and Mike Weisbecker of La Crosse, five grandchildren, Tara Falconer, Brent Kappauf, Megan Kappauf, Philip Weisbecker and Elizabeth Weisbecker, and a brother James (Maribeth) Weisbecker. He was preceded in death by his wife Elaine and his parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 10:30 AM at Mary, Mother of the Church Parish. Rev Brian D. Konopa will officiate. Entombment will follow in the St. Francis of Assisi Mausoleum, Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral & Cremation Services of La Crosse on Friday from 5:00 – 7:00 PM and at the church on Saturday from 9:30 AM until the time of services. Memorials may be given to Chileda or the Gundersen Foundation.
