Richard "Rick" C. Pervisky

September 9, 1944 — January 8, 2024

Today, January 8, 2024, I lost my best friend…

Rick was born September 9th, 1944, to Bill and Emily Pervisky, he was the youngest of three boys. Rick grew up with a pretty normal childhood, he fished and boated at his grandpa’s cottage, and as a teen, he had a paper route with his brother, Jerry. Rick graduated from Central High School in 1962 and joined the United States Army. He quickly earned the title of Sergeant. Rick loved the military and was proud of his service. When he finished his duty in 1965, he returned to La Crosse and started work at the Trane Company, where he stayed for 39 years until he retired.

I met Rick in the summer of 1966, and we married the following year in 1967. We would have been married 57 years this February. Rick and I were blessed with 2 children, Wendy Sue and John Richard. We enjoyed the children and took them everywhere: Disney Land, Black Hills, Disney World, Las Vegas, the Bahamas, we wanted them to see places. Later in our marriage we were blessed again with a grandson Jasper John and we tried to do the same with Jasper and show him places. We truly had a good life that ended way too soon.

Rick is survived by his wife Barbara; daughter, Wendy Sue (August) Hammes; son, John Richard Pervisky, and significant other Jessica McCabe; grandson, Jasper John Pervisky, and Jasper’s mother, Jill McIntosh; brother, Gerald (Heidi) Pervisky; sisters-in-law, Karen Pervisky and Kathy Michelsen; and many nieces and nephews.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents, William and Emily Pervisky; brother, James Pervisky; mother and father-in-law, Juanita and Neuton Michelsen; and brother-in-law, David Michelsen.

Special thanks to the hospice ladies with Gundersen Health System Hospice, and all the people who’ve helped me through this journey.

I love you honey, Barb
